Subject: Procurement of Palliative drugs by BIRMEX, Mexico 

We are glad to inform our member companies that the government of Mexico is keen on procurement of essential medicines from India as required in the country. Biological and Reagent Laboratories of Mexico (BIRMEX) with prior authorization from The Institute of Health for Welfare (INSABI) will be responsible for the procurement of required vaccines in Mexico as informed by the India Mexico Business Chamber. 

Please note:

The amended regulations will allow the health sector to import medicines without sanitary registration in Mexico, however companies with following regulatory approvals will be considered for the listed products:

• Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products-Swissmed.
• European Commission,
• Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the United States of America,
• Ministry of Health of Canada,
• Therapeutic Products Administration of Australia,
• Regulatory Agency of reference of WHO/PAHO,
• Prequalified by the pre-qualification program for medicines and vaccines of the World Health Organization or regulatory agencies members of the Pharmaceutical Inspection Cooperation Scheme (PICS)

• A local representative/distributor is mandatorily required for the export. Assistance from the local chamber will be extended to identify local representatives.
• Exporters are required to submit their dossiers in the next 5 days and apply for the registration process after the first import.
• Sample testing will be required beforehand at the company premises and further in Mexico from the incoming batches to ensure quality of the product.

The list of products required are enclosed herewith for your reference. Interested member companies are required to provide their quotes, delivery schedule and conditions in the attached format and send to Ms.Amparo Kushelevich , Administrator, India-Mexico Business Chamber (amparo@indiamexicochamber.org) with a copy to rodelhi@pharmexcil.com
