ROLE OF PHARMEXCIL
Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion of Council of India was set up by Ministry of
Commerce & Industry, Government of India in 2004 for promotion of exports
of Drugs & Pharmaceuticals. Pharmexcil acts as facilitator/catalyst among
Indian Exporters, Overseas Pharma Importers and various departments of
Indian Government for promotion of pharma exports. It also assists in overseas
investments. Council performs the following functions:
- Organizes International Pharma Business Meets in India/overseas to
create a platform for Indian Exporters and Overseas buyers to meet
and interact
- Invite officials of FDAs of overseas countries and organize interactive
meetings with Indian exporters, Indian FDAs to build confidence
about capabilities of Indian Pharma industry
- Assists Overseas Buyers to find source for their required products in
India by circulating their trade enquiries
- Assist Overseas buyers in providing credentials of the Indian
exporters, by providing information as available with the Council
- Help the Overseas buyers, to the extent possible, in resolving the
business related issues like delay in exports etc., by contacting the
respective exporter in India.
- Bring to the notice of Government of India about any quality related
issues for taking up necessary required action
- It organizes its own International exhibition IPHEX every year, by
inviting prominent buyers / associations / Drug regulatory officials /
journalists from various countries.
- It maintains very vibrant website for the benefit of its members as
well as overseas agencies.
