Subject: Operationalisation of the India–Oman FTA
The India–Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), signed in December 2025, is tentatively scheduled for implementation from 01 June 2026. The Agreement is expected to create significant opportunities for the Indian pharmaceutical, AYUSH, and wellness sectors.
One of the immediate benefits under the CEPA framework would be the implementation of Zero Tariffs on Indian pharmaceutical products, including APIs and formulations, from the date of operationalization. The Department of Commerce will also facilitate consignments scheduled during the first half of June 2026 with the presence and support of senior officials. In this connection, member companies are requested to submit the details of consignments for Oman through the below link to enable Pharmexcil to coordinate and represent the same effectively:

As this is an important initiative being closely monitored by the Hon’ble Minister of Commerce & Industry, member companies exporting to Oman are requested to submit the information on an urgent basis.

Ø Enhanced market access and trade facilitation measures to improve export competitiveness for Indian pharma and healthcare products in Oman.
Ø Zero tariffs on Indian pharmaceutical products, including APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients).
