Subject:Invitation to Submit Market Access Issues in Canada – Drugs & Pharmaceuticals

As part of the ongoing negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between India and Canada, it is important to highlight the market access challenges faced by the Indian pharmaceutical industry in Canada.

To ensure that the concerns of the industry are appropriately taken up with the Canadian side, stakeholders are requested to share specific issues encountered in the Canadian market, particularly in the following areas:

• Product registration delays- timelines, approval processes, and regulatory bottlenecks.
• Packaging and labelling requirements- compliance challenges, additional costs, and regulatory hurdles.
• Bilingual labelling aspects-difficulties arising from mandatory English/French requirements.
• Sanitary and phytosanitary measures-barriers impacting exports and regulatory conformity.

Inputs received will be consolidated and presented during the upcoming CEPA discussions.
