Subject:Request for feedback on proposed tariff enhancement by the Department of Commercial Strategy of the Foreign Trade Chamber(CAMEX), Government of Brazil -reg

 

This is to inform our member- exporters that PHARMEXCIL has received following information from Embassy of India, Brazil requesting for feedback on proposed tariff enhancement by the Department of Commercial Strategy of the Foreign Trade Chamber (CAMEX), Government of Brazil.

 

As per the latest review by the Embassy of India, Brazil of the 100 products is under consideration for tariff enhancement, 61 specific items were flagged as concerns for India. The decision to increase tariffs is made through an Inter-Ministerial group based on the following:

 

  • The capacity of national production to determine its sufficiency viz., whether local manufacturing is adequate to meet demand and
  • Alignment with the government’s new industrial policy promoting local production viz., whether this in one of the targeted areas for enhancing local production.

 

Member companies are kindly requested to share any concerns in the Comments Column N for HS Codes (under Chapter 29, marked in RED for easy reference in the attached Excel sheet) regarding the proposed tariff increase for items relevant to their products.Please send your inputs in the attached Excel format to romumbai@pharmexcil.commarking a copy to director.romumbai@pharmexcil.com& regulatory@pharmexcil.comby the end of the day on 12th September 2024.
