Subject: Seeking inputs/issues with respect to ASEAN countries - ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement (AITIGA)

We would like to inform member companies that, India and ASEAN have initiated negotiations for review of ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement (AITIGA), signed in August 2009. 

Ministry of Commerce is convening a meeting for discussion on tariff liberalization to be sought in Pharma sector from ASEAN countries and other trade related issues.

Member exporters are kindly requested to share the issues being faced with respect to tariff and non-tariff barriers with in ASEAN countries. This would enable Commerce Ministry to take up the matters with the ASEAN working group, for a negotiation at an appropriate time.
