Subject: DGTR's Video Conference Interaction with the Pharma Industry on 17th August 2020 (from 3:00 pm onwards) to discuss on the past anti-dumping duties levied on import of bulk drugs /API from China.
We would like to inform that Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) is organizing a Video Conference Interaction with the Pharma Industry on 17th August 2020 to discuss on the past anti-dumping duties levied on import of bulk drugs /API from China and whether any correction is required as expiry date is approaching.
Members are kindly aware DGTR recommends various trade remedies measures viz Anti- Dumping Duty, Countervailing Duty and Safeguard measures after prescribed investigation of complaints filed by domestic industry regarding the aforesaid unfair trade practices/import surges that result in injury.
Similarly, Domestic manufactures and exporters may also be subjected to trade remedy investigations by the trade authorities of importing countries. They may require legal assistance to contest these cases. In addition to the above roles in protecting our domestic industry against unfair imports, DGTR through its trade defense wing, extended legal support to the exporters facing investigations in other countries for imposition of countervailing duty or anti-dumping duty.
In this context, DGTR and DoC is organizing a Video Conference Interaction with the Pharma Industry on 17th August 2020 from 3:00 PM onwards to discuss on the past anti-dumping duties levied on import of bulk drugs /API from China.
