You may be  aware,  India largely depends on China for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients/ Key Starting Materials/ Intermediates and the need to make India self reliant on these products is established by several reports. Pharmexcil has done a study on "Strategies to reduce Import Dependency on "Strategies to Reduce Import Dependence of APIs, KSMs and Intermediates" with the support of the Department of Commerce and submitted a Detailed Project Report (DPR) to the Government.  Indeed this DPR has given the valuable inputs in framing the Pharma policy by the Dept of Pharmaceuticals  “Promotion of domestic manufacturing of critical KSMs, Drug intermediates  and APIs in the country” announced by the Govt of India.

To make the industry and the stakeholders familiarize on the concerns of the industry on Import dependence and the policy measures of the Government to make India Self Reliant, NIPER Hyderabad is hosting a Webinar on "Making India Self Reliant in API manufacturing" on 27th May 2020 during 11.00- 13.00 Hrs inviting the experts in the field.
