Subject: Banking issues related to Trans-shipment Via Iranian port through Sea ports like Bandar Abbas in Iran to Central Asian Countries / CIS countries like Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan etc.
We understand from our member-exporters that they are facing issues while exporting to Central Asian Countries / CIS countries like Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan etc. through Bandar Abbas port in Iran.
It has been brought to the notice of the Council that many Commercial Banks are refusing to deal with export documents even though the final destination is Central Asian Countries / CIS countries since it has touched Iranian port.
We would therefore like to take up these matters with the Ministry of Commerce & Ministry of Finance for resolution of this issue. Towards this end, we would request our member-exporters to submit the details of shipment via Iranian port along with relevant documents to enable the Council to represent this issue.
