Sub: Proposed SCOMET Seminar in Mumbai on 22nd Nov 2024
Pharmexcil ispleased to inform you that Director General of Foreign Trade DGFT, Mumbai is planning to organize a Special Chemicals, Organism, Materials, Equipment and Technologies (SCOMET) Seminar/workshop on Friday, 22nd, Nov 2024 for the benefit of the industry in the Western region. Officials from DGFT Headquarters and other partner agencies will be taking sessions in the Seminar, which would in turn help the member exporters to update their knowledge.
A SCOMET license is a permit required to export Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment, and Technologies (SCOMET) items from India. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) issues SCOMET licenses for items in categories 1,2,3,4,5,7, and 8 of the SCOMET list. The Department of Defence Production (DDP) issues licenses for category 6 items. A SCOMET license is valid for 24 months, but can be extended for up to one year.
