Subject: PROPOSED PHARMA HUB AT ADALI MIDC, SINDHUDURG

We would like to inform our Members that  Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation has proposed to allocate a large chunk of land at their Adali Industrial area at Sindhudurg to set up a Pharma Hub. Sindhudurg is very well connected by road, air and rail. The national highway is close by, the nearest airport is MOPA (Goa) which is 14 kms and the nearest station is Sawantwadi which is 21 kms from the site. There is abundant power and water available.

There are many colleges and ITIs in Sindhudurg ensuring manpower availability for the Pharma and engineering industry. A large number of these graduates currently work in Goa as there are not many industries in the area.

As regards Adali Industrial Area, majority of the infrastructure work like internal roads, power, water, etc. has been completed by MIDC. If a large number of companies decide to set up plants in the area, MIDC is willing to set-up Central ETP and other requirements that are specific for Pharma.

Since Sindhudurg is an eco-sensitive zone, only non-polluting industries will be allowed in this area. Pharmaceutical Formulation and allied pharmaceutical industry like machinery, printing, manufacture of HDPE bottles, etc. will be allowed.

This area falls in Zone D Category of MIDC and the government offers good incentives to set up an industry in this area.

To showcase this area, Team MIDC has planned a presentation at 11:30am, Tuesday 18th February 2025 at Office 4-A, 12th Floor World Trade Centre, Complex 1, Cuffe Parade, Mumbai 400 005. The same will be followed by interaction with MIDC officials.

The programme will be presided by Shri P. Velrasu, CEO MIDC.
