Subject: Inauguration of Patents Facilitation Centre, NIPER, Mohali on 26th November 2009 (Thursday)

We are pleased to announce the inauguration of Patents Facilitation Centre at NIPER, Mohali on 26th November 2009.  This centre is being opened with funding support from Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India.  Pharmexcil is hiring  the small facility  at NIPER, Mohali.

Shri Ashok Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India would be inaugurating the Centre. Shri N.R. Munjal,  Vice-Chairman, Pharmexcil will preside the event.

The PFC  at NIPER, Mohali  is second such centre  being opened  by PHARMEXCIL. The first one is operational at Hyderabad. The centre at NIPER, Mohali would serve the exporters in Northern Region and also provide a platform to students at NIPER to engage in patent related services to pharmaceuticals industry through various projects and research activities.  With the help of professors of NIPER and Dr.Gopakumar Nair, Pharmexcil’s Advisor on patent matters, the centre at NIPER would provide following services:

·      Organising Awareness programmes on Patents
·        Information on Patents
·        Patent Status of Pharmaceutical products in India and other countries
·        Interpretation of search information
·        Search based intellectual property related technology and prior art search
·        Invention mining
·        Patentability opinion
·        Infringement Analysis and opinion
·        Monthly analysis of granted patents
