Sub: Preparation of updated list of ‘Ordinary Members’
As members are aware, Elections for 8 vacancies for the year 2008-10 are under process and election notification has been issued on 6th August 08. (copy of the notification)
As per provisions of Articles of Association of the Council, only Ordinary Members of the Council would be eligible to vote / contest in the elections.
The status of a member as Ordinary Member or not will be determined on the basis of average export performance of the member during the immediate past three years. In case of SSI units, the minimum average yearly export performance is Rs.10.00 lacs and for others it is Rs.25.00 lacs. The member is also required to have a minimum three years membership with the council. (including certified membership period in Chemexcil, if any). Members who wish to contest in the elections should be an Ordinary Member and also should have an export turn over of Rs. 25 lakhs (in case of SSI category) and Rs.1.00 crore (other categories) during the immediately preceding one financial year.
Members are requested to submit Export turnover for the last three years, year wise, duly certified by a Chartered Accountant. However, members who have already furnished such information for elections during last years can submit additional information relating to audited export turnover for the year 2007-08, duly certified by chartered accountant.
Last date for receiving the above information is 10th September 2008. Members who wish to contest in the election should send such information before 20th August 08.
