As members are aware, Pharmexcil has made a representation to Department of Commerce for extending the timelines of bar coding on secondary packaging.

We are happy to inform that the Department of Commerce/DGFT has kindly considered our Council’s representation favorably and extended the timelines i.e. date of implementation for the bar coding on the Secondary Packaging and Primary Packaging, wide its Notification No:87 (RE-2010)/2009-2014 dt:22.12.2011 as follows,

a) Primary Level packaging  - extended from 1st July 2012 to 1st January, 2013
b) Secondary Level packaging - extended from 1st January 2012 to 1st July 2012

Members are requested to take note of this important development accordingly. A copy of the Notification is enclosed for your information and ready reference.
