We are pleased to inform you that the Embassy of India in Berlin, Germany, the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) and the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) are organizing a Webinar on "Impact of the German and the EU Due Diligence Laws on Supply Chains: Imperatives for Indian Industry'" organized on Thursday, February 24, 2022.

As we all know, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards will soon shape global supply chains. Germany enacted new legislation mandating due diligence in supply chains in June 2021, which goes into effect the following year. In addition, the European Union intends to enact comprehensive due diligence legislation in 2023. As a result, the company's operations and supply networks will soon be evaluated in accordance with these ESG laws. All such companies' direct suppliers around the world may be subject to inspection for compliance. These new laws on supply chain due diligence will have a significant impact on Indian companies and suppliers with interests in Europe. A copy of Germany's Act on Corporate Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains, as amended on July 16, 2021, is enclosed for your ready reference.
