Subject: Video Conference for Stakeholders on Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for promotion of Domestic Manufacturing of critical KSMs/DI/API in India

You are kindly aware Pharmexcil has made various recommendations to the Department of Commerce and Department of Pharmaceuticals to scale up the manufacturing of APIs and to ensure uninterrupted supply of quality of APIs for the Nation. Pharmexcil with the support of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry has conducted a study on “Strategies to Reduce Import Dependence of APIs, KSMs, and Intermediates” and DPR was submitted to all the Ministries.

The Department of Pharmaceuticals has already rolled out schemes for Promotion of Bulk Drugs and Policy of Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for promotion of domestic manufacturing of KSMs, Drug Intermediates and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and the details were of the scheme were already shared with members by Pharmexcil vide our circular no:  PXL/HO/Cir-028/2020-21 06.06.2020.

A Technical Committee was constituted for preparing guidelines for Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for promotion of domestic manufacturing in India. It is understood from the communication of the Chairman of the Technical Committee dt: 11.06.2020 that the technical committee has prepared draft guidelines and the committee has decided to consult with stakeholders to finalize the guidelines.  The Department of Pharmaceuticals is hosting a Video Conference to present the draft guidelines to all the MD/CEO of pharma companies  on 13.06.2020 region wise and the VC will be chaired by Shri N. Rinwa, JS Pharma.

Date: 13th June 2020

Timings:  South Region: 10.30am  -12.00 pm

                 West Region: 12.30 pm- 2.00 pm

                  North Region : 2.30pm -4.00pm
