Dear Sir/Madam,

Subject: Update on Restoration of Medical Supplies from China to India

Members may kindly be aware that China’s state-run Sichuan Airlines has suspended all its cargo flights to India for 15 days from 26 April 2021 onwards inlight of a surge in Covid cases in India and Pharmexcil has requested the Government & Indian embassy, Beijing  to take necessary measures to restore the supply chain of medical needs of our country including KSMs/APIs etc from China.

In this regard, we have received a communication from the Department of Pharmaceuticals that Sichuan Airlines is restarting its operations from Chengdu to Chennai from 12th May, and from Chengdu to Bengaluru on 9th May 2021.

In addition, there are multiple other cargo operations available from China to India including charter flights. The contact details for some of the cargo operators is also attached herewith for the benefit of the members. Members may kindly make a note of this and plan the shipments accordingly.

With regards,

Uday Bhaskar

Director General
