Dear Sir/Madam,

Subject: Multi-Product Warehousing cum Distribution Centre in Central America-Guatemala

We are pleased to inform our member companies that the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) with support of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India and Embassy of India in Guatemala is exploring the possibility to start a “Multi - Product Warehouse Cum Distribution Centre” in Guatemala.

This initiative is being planned to address a major concern of time taken for containers to reach from India to Central America, being one of the major reasons for significantly low share of India’s exports in global imports of the region. The proposed multi – product warehousing facility cum distribution centre aims to cater the growing demand of Indian products in Central America, Latin America, Caribbean & NAFTA region.

Guatemala is strategically located and is equidistant to Northern most part of Canada and Southernmost part of Argentina making it the most appropriate destination for market players seeking market access to enter America as a continent. It is the most developed amongst the Central American Countries and is well connected to the region.

Key facilities of Warehousing cum Distribution centre (for Indian Companies) include:

  • Bilingual Sales team to promote and follow up with the buyers in the region
  • Min 50 Sq. mtrs dedicated area for each organization
  • Gated community warehouse cum distribution centre from security perspective
  • Helpers to sort and manage the goods
  • Accountants to keep track of stock
  • Complete Insurance of Goods
  • Market intelligence support

Guatemala is considered the largest Pharma market in the Central American region. Indian pharmaceutical exports to Guatemala amounted to USD 25.74 MN in FY 2020 -21 and overall pharma imports are forecasted to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.3%, reaching USD 839.3 MN by 2024.
