Subject: 5^th NationalStandards Conclave-"Implementing the Indian National Standards Strategy"

Pharmexcil is pleased to inform its members that the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India in collaboration with Export Inspection Council of India (EIC), the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the National Accreditation Board for Certification bodies (NABCB), and the Centre for WTO Studies (CWTOs) are organizing the 5^th National Standards Conclave with the theme "Implementing the Indian National Standards Strategy" on 18-19 June, 2018 atDiwan-I-Am Hall, Taj Mahal Hotel, Mansingh Road, New Delhi,

Every year, the National Standards Conclave is organized to generate awareness amongst industry members and other stakeholders about the importance of "Standards" in the changing scenario of Global Trade. Last year’s conclave resulted in the successful development of the Indian National Standards Strategy which has already gone through its public comments and revision.

This year, the conclave has expanded its scope, to focus on implementing the ‘National Strategy for Standards’, a pressing need for a large economy like India.

Hon’ble Commerce and Industry Minister, Shri Suresh Prabhuand Ms. Rita A. Teaotia, Secretary, Department of Commerce have kindly consented to inaugurate the Conclave and release the Indian National Standards Strategy.

The programme details are as follows:

Date: 18 – 19 June 2018

Time: 0900hrs-1830hrs

Venue: Diwan-I-Am Hall, Taj Mahal Hotel, Mansingh Road, New Delhi

The two-day conclave is expected to be well attended by senior officials from Central and State Governments, Standards setting bodies, export promotion agencies, and manufacturing and services providing organizations together with international and national experts in related fields.
