Members may please refer to Public Notice No. 52/2015-2020dt. 5.1.2016 and 3/2015-2020dt. 21.4.2016, wherein a provision is made for exemption from barcoding on export of drugs  to those countries where importing country has mandated or formally notified its intention to mandate  a specific track and trace system.   Vide Public Notice 3/2015-2020, Pharmexcil is designated as agency for disposing off the applications from exporters for exemption, with prior approval of Government. This subject was discussed in the interactive meeting organised by Pharmexcil at Mumbai on dt 13.5.2016 also.

In view of the above, we request the members to send their applications for exemption from barcoding to the head office of Pharmexcil.  Members may please note the following:

a)   Applications should be in the attached Format

b)   Applications should be sent for each country separately

c)   List of products to be exported under exemption to be provided along with application

d)   Exemptions will be granted to individual companies only after approval by Ministry of Commerce

We also wish to inform that On-line application facility is being developed by Pharmexcil, which will become active soon.
