Subject: Information on Regulatory Procedures for Ayush products (5 Countries)

Members are kindly aware that Council has established Ayush Cell in 2006 and since then Council has taken up several measures and activities promoting exports of Ayush and value added products of herbals globally.

The following important programmes were organised by the Council focussed to Ayush industry with some general activities which included Ayush sector:

  1. Buyer Seller Meet at 6th World Ayurveda Congress during Nov.2014 (invited 50 Foreign Delegates from 20 countries)

  3. Participated in prominent international trade fairs like Vita foods, Supply Side West and Engredea for export promotion of Ayurveda, Herbal and Dietary Supplements products.

In our endeavour to promote this sector, Council during the 2014-15 also constituted Ayush Advisory Group with experts from Industry and Associations and taken up/represented several issues to the Department of Commerce & Department of AYUSH and also organised several activities leading to export promotion.

Some of our recent representations include:

3.      Biodiversity Act

4.      CAMS Regulation in South Africa & its amendment in the Legislation

5.      COPP Matterand the challenges being faced by our members in registering  herbal products with DDA Nepal and Sri Lanka

In this regard, Council is developing a database on Regulatory information (registration procedures) for Herbal/Ayush sector country wise and making it available to the member companies very soon.

To commence with, we are providing the information for the following five countries, as available with us, for your kind information and use:

1.     Tanzania
