To,

All the Members of Council,

Dear Sir/Madam,

Subject: BSM-CUM-Expo in Yangon, Myanmar followed by BSM in Vietnam and Indonesia (10th Jan-21st Jan 2018)

We are happy to inform Pharmexcil along with SEPC (lead agency), EEPC and FICCI with the support of Ministry of Commerce are organising BSM-cum Expo at Myanmar followed by Delegation to Vietnam and Indonesia during 10-21st Jan.2018.

We take this opportunity to mention that CLMV countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam) have been into strategic focus of Department of Commerce, Govt of India to promote exports and increase India's market share.

Sustaining the effort holds the key for these markets and likewise of other markets in ASEAN region. In the intervening periods since the last event organized in Myanmar, Pharmexcil and Department of Commerce have been interacting with Ministry of Health Authorities and related stakeholders at various forums and occasions. Myanmar surely will remain a market with potential for formulations.

Vietnam, a very important market for India, despite strengthening their local medicine capacities and issues. Pharmexcil under the guidance of Department of Commerce has taken up the matters on its merit while at the same time taken a note of companies not adhering to quality and regulatory compliance. The market needs the effort to reinforce their belief in India's pharma products.

Indonesia for many years somewhat got out of our radar in terms of export promotion through business delegation. Though it remained very much on the agenda for taking steps to make exports of most of our formulations possible in Indonesia. Indonesia having its own robust manufacturing industry has been importing APIs from India. The market offers good potential for JVs and collaboration. Most of the concerns of Indian companies with regards to Indonesian market have been recently taken up by the Department of Commerce last month with the visiting High-level Indonesian delegation to India.Embassy of India at Jakarta is closely working with Ministry of Health, Indonesia to promote pharmaceuticals trade and requested Pharmexcil to mount the Delegation to explore the market potential and investment opportunities in Indonesia.

In view of all these facts, Pharmexcil proposes an expo-cum BSM in Myanmar followed by BSM in Vietnam and Indonesia. Services Export Promotion Council and Engineering Export Promotion Council as the lead agency for the event will be joining the business delegation as part of the convergence of entire healthcare sector (Pharma and Ayush, healthcare services and medical devices).
