REVISED GUIDELINES FOR CLAIMING

INCENTIVES UNDER MAI SCHEME

FROM 1.4.2018

Dear Sir / Madam,

This is to inform the members that Government has issued revised guidelines for MAI (Market Access Incentive Scheme), copy of which is attachedfor reference of members.

Claims to be filed within 90 days from date of Registration:

One of the important changes in guidelines is that members who wish to claim reimbursement of  product registration charges, Patent Filing Charges, reimbursement of travel charges of Drug Regulators, reimbursement of expenses of  Bio-equivalence studies  etc., under MAI scheme have to submit their claims, complete in all aspects, within 90 (ninety) days from the date of  Registration Certificate. For example: If the date of Registration Certificate is 15.4.2018, claim complete in all aspects should be filed through online on or before 14.7.2018.  Claims received after 90 days will not be considered by the Ministry.

Pharmexcil is required to give a certificate stating that the claim is received within 90 days from the date of Registration Certificate while forwarding the claim with its recommendations.

Members are advised to take note of this important change in the guidelines and file their claims within 90 days from the date of Registration, with effect from 1.4.2018.

Claims pertaining 2016-17 & 2017-18:

We have sought clarifications about time lines for submitting the claims pertaining to 2016-17 and 2017-18 and we are waiting for the same.  Pending clarifications from the Ministry, members are advised to file their claims pertaining to the above two years on or before 30th June 2018 through online.  Claims received after this date will not be considered.

It may be noted that Ministry is very particular about timelines and not entertaining any requests for condonation of delays.  Hence, members are advised to follow the times lines strictly and avoid rejections/ returns of their claims.

With regards
